Azard Gumbs

Mr. Azard Gumbs is a Barrister and Solicitor having been called to the Bar of St. Kitts and Nevis in 2015.

In 2008, Mr. Gumbs was determined by the Caribbean Examination Council as the Runner up State Scholar for the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. In 2010, Mr. Gumbs departed St. Kitts and Nevis to pursue a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. During his time at the UWI he served as President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Students’ Association (2011-2012), President of the UWI Cave Hill Law Society (2012-2013) and Law Representative on the Cave Hill Guild of Students.

In 2013, Mr. Gumbs completed his legal studies and graduated with Bachelor of Laws with honours from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus. In 2015, he graduated from the Norman Manley Law School with a Legal Education Certificate.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Gumbs served as a Crown Counsel within the Attorney General’s Chambers, High Court Registry, Land Registry, and the St. Kitts Investment Promotion Agency. Most recently, Mr. Gumbs was employed as the in-House Legal Counsel for the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority between August 2020 to January 2022.
